We came here for a recreative schoolday and it's really cool. We visited it in the morning and the lady from the Museum explained to us what we could do there and asked us loads of questions, but of course, I didn't know any of the answers. But now I will be able to tell about it to all to my friends! In the afternoon we looked at really weird paintings with strange surrealist names like Delvaux or Magritte and afterwards the lady from the Museum told us that we could do the same by painting and making collages, it was a good laugh! I told my grandma that it would be great if we could come back one weekend, and what's more, i have been told that entry is free on the first Sunday of each month!

Characteristics
Quiet, a museum ? Not in Louvain-la-Neuve, where the Musée L makes artworks talk to each other : a Buddha next to a medieval Christ, ancient writings alongside calculating machines... The UCLouvain museum, with 32.000 items in its collection, explores some new and unusual encounters that tell us about the world and our humanity. Art works are not the only thing on display: the museum also presents the UCLouvain’s scientific collections. Natural history specimens, archaeological and ethnographic objects and scientific inventions are all on show in 2,600 m² of exhibition space at the heart of a building that is a landmark of modern Belgian architecture. Museum L is not like other museums: it is a place of living dialogue and exciting discovery.
To begin with
The Museum was one of the first university institutions to open its doors to the general public. Nowadays it is one of the largest university museum in Belgium.
Its collections came from Leuven, but they have been considerably expanded since then by bequests and donations.
