The Jean Vilar Theater and its studio

Inaugurated in 1979 by Armand Delcampe, manager, director and actor, the Jean Vilar Theater is the large hall in the Jean Vilar Theater Studio.  It has a true international influence.  Since its arrival in Louvain-la-Neuve in 1975, the Theater Studio has presented more than 505 shows (own productions or hosted prestigious companies).

A beautiful illustrated book published for the 40th anniversary of the Theater Studio, reveals the story of this workshop over the course of the seasons and personal accounts (for sale in the Tourism-Inforville Office for 40€).

The administration of the Jean Vilar Theater Studio and its small hall, the Blocry Theater, have taken up residence in the Blocry Farm, next to the Center for Theatrical Studies and the theater section of the Institute of Broadcasting Arts.

Cultural Center

The Cultural Center of Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve puts on more than 50 shows each year (theater, music, dance, circus) in its hall, at the Douaire Farm, in the public space or in the Woods of Dreams.  The Cultural Center also holds conferences and any type of event all year long.  It notably organizes the literature festival “The Nights of Ink”, the Contemporary Art Biennial, the Festidanse and more than 10 exhibits each year.  The cultural center coordinates the agenda of cultural public activities organized in Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, available in the Boussole, its bimonthly periodical, on its website and in our agenda.

Cultural space of the Biéreau Farm

The house of music welcomes you to come enjoy its concerts, from jazz to world music, from classical to contemporary.  Other musical activities happen here and the farm also opens its doors to literary events, conferences, workshops and more.
