Green spaces

The city is built in a region made up of river valleys that bring a remarkable natural heritage.

The woods, humid areas and valley floors are the dominant elements of the natural heritage of the City, sites that absolutely must be preserved.

Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve is located in the Dyle valley, which is made up of the Dyle and its effluents, the Stimont, the Ry Pinchart, the Ry Angon, the Malaise, the Blanc-Ry and the Watercress Bed.

Some natural areas are protected and are completely closed to the public while others are tourist areas, public spaces and areas of biological interest.
